Twelfth Night (Shakespeare in the Parks), Henry VI Part I (Taffety Punk Bootleg @ Folger Theatre), Antony and Cleopatra (Brave Spirits Theatre)

I've had the pleasure of spending my summer working on three different Shakespeare productions. Throughout July I performed in Twelfth Night with Prince George's Shakespeare in the Parks, which toured to public parks throughout Prince George's County and provided free professional Shakespeare productions to audiences throughout the DC area. I was part of the Ensemble and group of live musicians, playing percussion in a group led by Bradley Foster Smith.

I ended July performing with Taffety Punk Theatre Company to a packed house at their annual Bootleg Shakespeare at the Folger Theatre in a production of Henry VI Part I. It was an honor to be part of this tradition and perform alongside such an incredible group of actors, in one of the scariest and most exhilarating performances I've ever been a part of. To learn more about Taffety Punk's Bootleg tradition, check out this article. Beautiful photos by Bee Two Sweet Photography.

In August I began rehearsals for Antony and Cleopatra with Brave Spirits Theatre, which opens September 14th. Check out this beautiful poster!

Di and Viv and Rose -- Off-Broadway U.S. Premiere -- Original Soundtrack Now Streaming

We soundtracked a play! And then we saw it! (performing at Theatre Row in NYC thru June 19). The performances in this play are *beautiful*-- this review sums up how I felt about it.  And now our original soundtrack for the U.S. premiere of Di and Viv and Rose by Amelia Bullmore is available for you to hear online thanks to our wonderful friends at The Le Sigh. You can also download it via Tomboy's bandcamp. By far one of my favorite projects I've worked on this year. A really special + cool collaboration with an incredible group of women making important theater.

May/June 2016

Original Soundtrack for Di and Viv and Rose U.S. premiere & 2016 Source Festival

My band Tomboy is writing original music for the U.S. premiere of Amelia Bullmore's West End hit Di and Viv and Rose! Thrilled to be collaborating with this amazing group of female theater artists  on this awesome project. You can learn more about the show here. Di and Viv and Rose runs from June 2-19th at Theatre Row.

I'm currently in rehearsals for the 2016 Source Festival, where I'm performing in two 10-minute plays directed by Kevin Place. Performance dates are 6/12, 6/17, 6/25, and 7/3.

Spring 2016: Shakespeare

Verona's most festive + gender-ambiguous residents

Verona's most festive + gender-ambiguous residents

Currently in the middle of a 6 week run of Romeo & Juliet student matinees at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company. We’ve already performed to over 2,000 students and will perform to over 7,000 by the end of the run. The middle and high school audiences are the best audiences you could ask for. They boo and laugh and applaud when the villains are killed and go crazy when Romeo & Juliet kiss each other. I’m playing the Musician, underscoring the fights with drumming accompaniment and playing music throughout. It’s a ton of fun to be part of such a high-energy production Monday-Friday mornings, and collaborate with such a talented cast.

On April 25th I’ll be teaming up with Shakespeare in the Pub for a staged reading of Richard II directed by Brave Spirits' Charlene V. Smith. The show will take place at The Pinch in Columbia Heights and will involve lots of drinking and general debauchery, with an all-female cast of DC actors.

In May I’ll begin rehearsals for two short plays in the Source Festival, INBETWEEN THE DROPS by Elayne Heilveil and Adam’s Temptation by Jack Earl Piland, both directed by Kevin Place and performing in June 2016.

In June I’ll begin rehearsals for PG County Shakespeare in the Parks’ production of Twelfth Night, directed by Christopher Dwyer and touring to parks throughout PG County.

Year of the Rooster closes, Shakespeare Unscene opens

The regional premiere of Eric Dufault's Year of the Rooster at Single Carrot Theatre closed Jan. 10th. I couldn't be more proud to be a part of this beautiful, gritty, hilarious play, collaborate with such a smart and thoughtful group of artists, and get to bring to life one of the most badass and dynamic young female characters (Philipa) I've read. Hard to see this one go! We received great reviews in the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Style, Theatre Bloom, and DC Metro Theater Arts, and were named one of the top shows of 2015 by DC Metro Theater Arts.

We also got to perform for and do a talk-back with an amazing audience of high school students closing weekend. They were equally smart, thoughtful, hilarious and uninhibited. High school audiences are the best!

I am continuing to work in Baltimore, now at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company with their under-30 company, Blood & Courage. Performing with an incredible ensemble of women in Shakespeare Unscene, directed by CSC company member Seamus Miller.

Chickens at Single Carrot

Got to meet REAL CHICKENS (c/o the Charm City Cook Amy Langrehr) after the show last week. I promise those chickens are sleeping (not dead)!

Year of the Rooster by Eric Dufault closes Jan. 10. One more week to check out this play. I'm intensely proud of this one! Tickets are available here.
